A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N586JB performing flight B6-425 from Boston,MA to West Palm Beach,FL (USA) with 148 passengers and 5 crew, was climbing out of Boston about 6nm south of New Bedford Municipial,MA (USA) at approximately 21:10L (01:10Z Jun 8th) when the crew reported they were in heavy rain and possibly had taken a lightning strike advising it was likely they would divert to New York's JFK Airport. The crew stopped the climb at FL270, entered a hold to assess the systems and possible damage, then decided to divert to JFK airport reporting they had multiple system failures they believed because of a lightning strike. While on approach to JFK Airport at 3000 feet, it was decided the aircraft would divert to Newark,NJ, the aircraft positioned for an approach to Newark's runway 04R and landed safely about 2 hours after stopping the climb.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration N510JB reached West Palm Beach with a delay of 6:20 hours.

The incident aircraft has not yet departed Newark again about 10 hours after landing.
