An Aer Lingus Airbus A320-200, registration EI-DEK performing flight EI-398 from Dublin (Ireland) to Vilnius (Lithuania), was departing Dublin's runway 28 when the crew reported they had hit at least two birds at about 30 feet above ground, one bird had gone through an engine, and they would like to return to Dublin. The aircraft stopped the climb at 4000 feet, the crew advised they didn't need services, a normal landing would commence. A runway inspection did not turn up any debris. The aircraft joined a right downwind and landed safely back on runway 28 about 12 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration EI-CPH is estimated to reach Vilnius with a delay of 2 hours.
