A Emirates Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration A6-EBP performing flight EK-358 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Jakarta (Indonesia) with 374 passengers, was enroute at FL350 about 30nm southwest of Singapore (Singapore) at approximately 22:45L (14:45Z) when the crew decided to divert to Singapore after the aircraft had encountered turbulence causing injuries to 10 passengers and 3 cabin crew. The aircraft landed safely on runway 02C about 30 minutes after the decision to divert. The injured were taken to hospitals, one of the flight attendants was diagnosed with a serious injury to to the cervical vertebra, the others were released after minor injuries were treated.

The aircraft was able to continue to Jakarta after about 18 hours on the ground and reached Jakarta with a delay of 19 hours.

The injured passengers were rebooked onto other airlines' flights.

Passengers reported the aircraft was flying over Nicobar Islands when the aircraft encountered turbulence causing the injuries and prompting the diversion to Singapore to take care of the seriously injured flight attendant.
