A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGMQ performing flight QK-8551 from Calgary,AB to Victoria,BC (Canada) with 77 people on board, had just reached cruise level 240 about 55nm southwest of Calgary when the crew detected cabin pressure problems and decided to return to Calgary. The aircraft descended normally to 9000 feet reaching 9000 feet about 10 minutes after leaving FL240 and landed safely back about 35 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported the kick plate at the service door had shifted resulting in a pressure leak.
