An American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration N983TW performing flight AA-153 from Orlando,FL to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was on final approach to O'Hare's runway 27L descending through about 1600 feet MSL when the crew decided to go-around reporting they needed to check a gear relay. The aircraft climbed to 4000 feet and entered a hold to work the checklists, then positioned for an approach to runway 28. The crew advised that they and maintenance believed the gear doors were all open, however they expected a normal landing, but needed maintenance to push the doors up after landing so that they would be able to taxi. The aircraft landed safely on runway 28 and stopped onto the runway until an airline's maintenance team had taken care of the gear doors, the crew advised the gear doors were now indicated up and taxied the aircraft to the apron.
