An Airwork Boeing 737-300 freighter, registration ZK-FXT performing test flight HT-46 from Auckland to Auckland (New Zealand) with 3 crew, was enroute at FL360 about 90nm northeast of Auckland when the crew reported the right hand engine (CFM56) needed to be shut down and returned to Auckland for a safe landing on runway 23L about 30 minutes later.

The aircraft had undergone maintenance following problems with the engine on Apr 4th.
