A Jazz Canadair CRJ-200, registration C-GQJA performing flight QK-7745 from Newark,NJ (USA) to Montreal,QC (Canada), was climbing through 9000 feet out of Newark when the aircraft was struck by a bird and received minor damage. The aircraft continued to Montreal for a safe landing about 50 minutes later.

The FAA reported the aircraft sustained minor damage as result of a bird strike at 9000 feet while climbing out of Newark.
