An ANA Wings de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration JA843A performing flight NH-547 from Osaka Itami to Kagoshima (Japan) with 71 people on board, was climbing out of Itami airport when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet and entered a hold due to problems retracting the landing gear. The aircraft subsequently returned to Itami Airport for a safe landing about one hour after departure.

Japan's Ministry of Transport reported shortly after takeoff a warning appeared that the landing gear may not have been retracted. It was not clear whether there was a malfunction of the aircraft.
