An Aer Lingus Airbus A321-200N, registration EI-LRF performing flight EI-101 from Dublin (Ireland) to Newark,NJ (USA) with 170 people on board, was climbing out of Dublin's runway 10R when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 and subsequently declared PAN PAN reporting they had had three fume events and requesting emergency services to meet them and follow them to the apron, they were landing overweight. The aircraft landed safely on Dublin's runway 10L about 50 minutes after departure.

A replacement A321-200N registration EI-XLT reached Newark with a delay of about 4:15 hours.

According to information The Aviation Herald received the fumes were noticed in the forward cabin, the crew did not don the oxygen masks (their transmissions to ATC don't suggest they had donned their oxygen masks, too).

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Dublin 24 hours after landing back.
