An Indigo Airbus A320-200, registration VT-INQ performing flight 6E-236 from Agartala to Kolkata (India) with 177 passengers and 6 crew, was in the initial climb out of Agartala when an engine (V2527) ingested a bird prompting the crew to return to Agartala for a safe landing.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the next flights.

Passengers reported they heard a loud bang, then a burning smell developed in the cabin while the aircraft returned to Agartala.

The incident aircraft positioned out of Agartala on Mar 22nd.
