A Carpatair Fokker 100, registration YR-FKB performing flight V3-371 from Timisoara (Romania) to Milan Orio al Serio (Italy) with 76 passengers, was climbing through FL310 out of Timisoara when the left hand windshield developed cracks prompting the crew to return to Timisoara for a safe landing on runway 11 about 40 minutes after departure.

A replacement Fokker 100 registration YR-FZA reached Milan with a delay of 2 hours.
