A Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N361NW performing flight FL-1705 from New Orleans,LA to New York La Guardia,NY (USA), diverted to New York's JFK Airport after the crew reported a hydraulic failure due to a possible hydraulic leak during the descent towards New York, the crew indicated they would have no nose wheel steering and brakes problems. The aircraft landed safely on JFK's runway 31L about 15 minutes later. The aircraft stopped on the runway and was shut down while emergency services checked for hydraulic leaks. Emergency services subsequently confirmed a leak from the left side about mid region of the fuselage, the captain reported the brakes at the left side showed 240 degrees C with the right hand brakes showing 450 degrees C. The aircraft was towed to the apron.
