A Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N3762Y performing flight DL-1760 from Detroit,MI to San Francisco,CA (USA) with 164 people on board, was enroute at FL320 about 45nm southwest of Grand Rapids,MI (USA) when the crew reported an engine fire detection fault indication and decided to divert to Grand Rapids. On approach the crew advised they were landing overweight with the tyre fuses possibly melting. The aircraft landed safely on Grand Rapid's runway 08R about 25 minutes after leaving FL320, stopped briefly on the runway and taxied to the gate.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 is estimated to reach San Francisco with a delay of 3.5 hours.
