An Indigo Airbus A321-200N, registration VT-ICD performing flight 6E-108 from Hyderabad to Chandigarh (India) with 199 people on board, had landed on Chandigarh's runway 29 and taxied to the apron, when smoke began to emanate from an overhead locker in the aft cabin. Flight attendants discharged fire extinguishers into the overhead locker and placed a passenger's power bank, that had suffered a thermal runaway and caught fire, into a protective bag. Due to the smoke an emergency evacuation via slides was initiated resulting inserious injuries to one passenger (multiple fractures) and minor injuries to a number of other passengers.

The airline reported a passenger's personal electronic device caught fire after landing, an immediate evacuation took place. All passengers were safely evacuated.

Emergency services reported a number of passengers were taken to hospitals with minor injuries, one passenger was suspected to have sustained a fracture, in the hospital multiple fractures requiring surgery were diagnosed.

The aircraft returned to service on May 7th 2026.
