A Finnair Airbus A320-200, registration OH-LXD performing flight AY-1471 from Helsinki (Finland) to Vienna (Austria), landed on Vienna's runway 34, when smoke began to develop. The aircraft continued to the apron, where a hydraulic leak was discovered dripping hydraulic fluid onto an engine (CFM56) producing the smoke. The passengers disembarked normally, however, were unable to receive their checked luggage that day.

The return flight was cancelled.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 34 hours, then positioned back to Helsinki and resumed service.
