A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration G-EZBH reached London with a delay of 4 hours.
An inquiry in Dutch Parliament about safety at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport revealed that the A319 had been hit by six Greater White-Fronted Geese (wingspan up to 165cm/65 inches, weight up to 3.3kg/7.3lbs), the parliament was told one of the engines had become inoperative. A bird radar is being developed for Schiphol, measures to make the area around the aerodrome less attractive for geese are underway and half a million of birds are to be gassed.
