An Air Astra Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration S2-AKQ performing flight 2A-450 from Cox's Bazar to Dhaka (Bangladesh), had backtracked Cox Bazar's runway 17, aligned with the runway and was accelerating for takeoff on runway 17 when the aircraft collided with a dog prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed (about 120 knots over ground). The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron. Emergency services removed the dog's carcass from the runway.

The aircraft was examined, was found not damaged, and departed and reached Dhaka with a delay of about 90 minutes.
