An Aeroitalia Boeing 737-800, registration 9H-GEF performing flight XZ-2356 from Cagliari to Milan Linate (Italy), was enroute at FL340 over the Tyrrhenian Sea about 10nm northeast of Olbia (Italy) when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL110 due to the loss of cabin pressure, the passenger oxygen masks deployed. The aircraft continued to Milan for a safe landing on runway 36 about 50 minutes after leaving FL340.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Milan about 20 hours after landing.
