A Swiss International Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration HB-IPV performing flight LX-638 from Zurich (Switzerland) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was descending towards Paris when the left hand engine (CFM56) stalled but recovered. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Charles de Gaulle's runway 09L about 20 minutes later.

The return flight LX-639 was cancelled.

The incident aircraft was able to position back to Zurich about 45 hours after landing and resumed service afterwards.
