A very brief preliminary report in Spanish by Honduras' AHAC states in its entirety (translated):
On Monday 17 March 2025 at 18:25 pm local time, the aircraft Jetstream 3200 with registration number HR-AYW, operated by Línea Aérea Nacional de Honduras LANHSA, performing its commercial flight LNH-018, with 17 people on board the aircraft (15 passengers and 2 flight crew), taking off from the International Airport MHRO in the city of Roatan to the International Airport MHLC in the city of La Ceiba. The aircraft performed its passenger boarding procedure, started engines and taxied to the active runway 07 MHRO.
During its take-off run the HR-AYW aircraft climbed approximately (20-35 fts) over the terrain, deviating to the right side of the runway where it lost flight control and subsequent impacted the waters (ocean) becoming submerged between (50-60 mts) deep and (150 mts) away from the outer edge of the MHRO airport.
The technical investigation is being carried out according to national and international protocols and by collecting multimedia documentation and components for technical scientific analysis within the investigation process.
Subsequently, the probable causes of this accident will be made known to in the final report issued by the Commission of Investigation of Aviation Accidents and Incidents CIAIA.
On Mar 18th 2026 the AHAC released their interim report in Spanish only stating, that on initial climb the aircraft veered to the right of the runway center line and at an height of about 7m/21 feet struck a ladder located at the VOR facility at the right side of the runway with its right hand wing. The aircraft subsequently impacted the Caribbean Sea. The left engine remained attached to the wing structure, the propeller assembly detached from the engine. The right hand engine detached from its wing mount. The blades of both propellers showed deformation.
The AHAC further reported the aircraft did not have a Flight Data Recorder. While there had been an exception until Mar 4th 2021, at the time of the accident the aircraft was required to carry a FDR.
In February 2026 an underwater reconnaissance exploration by a specialist diving team was conducted with the priority to locate and recover the CVR, engines and propellers.
