PIA A320 at Karachi and Lahore on Mar 12th 2025, dropped main wheel on departure

A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration AP-BLS performing flight PK-306 from Karachi to Lahore (Pakistan), departed Karachi's runway 25L and landed on Lahore's runway 36R seemingly without incident. A post flight inspection revealed however, that the inboard wheel of the left main gear was missing.

Pakistan's CAA reported the occurrence may have been caused by a foreign object at Karachi.

Some nuts and bolts were found on the departure runway in Karachi, the missing wheel has so far not been recovered.

The airline reported one of the main wheels was identified missing after landing.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Lahore about 23 hours after landing.

On Mar 14th 2025 Pakistan*s Civil Aviation Authority reported the wheel was found at Karachi Airport next to a parked Boeing 777's landing gear. The wheel did not cause any damage on the ground.
