A US Airways Airbus A321-200, registration N180US performing flight US-1232 from Montego Bay (Jamaica) to Charlotte,NC (USA) with 167 people on board, suffered a hydraulic failure while climbing out of Montego Bay, the crew stopped the climb at FL240 and decided to divert to Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA), where the aircraft landed safely on runway 09L about 70 minutes after departure. The aircraft needed to be towed off the runway.
