A KLM Cityhopper Fokker 70, registration PH-JCT performing flight KL-1445 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Aberdeen,SC (UK), was enroute at FL340 about 150nm southeast of Aberdeen and 230nm northwest of Amsterdam when the crew decided to return to Amsterdam due to a problem with the standby attitude indicator (AI) reasoning the standby AI was a dispatch item. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 27 about 50 minutes later.

The aircraft was able to depart again after about 40 minutes on the ground and reached Aberdeen with a delay of 2:10 hours.
