A Jet2.com Airbus A321-200N, registration G-SUNJ performing flight LS-995 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Las Palmas,CI (Spain), was on approach to Las Palmas about to turn final when the crew decided to abort the approach due to problems with the flaps. The aircraft entered a hold while the crew was working the related checklists, then proceeded for a safe landing on Las Palmas' runway 03L with emergency services on standby about 25 minutes after aborting the first approach.

A passenger reported the crew announced a flaps failure.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Las Palmas for about 2.5 hours, then departed for the return flight LS-996.
