A Smartwings Boeing 737-800, registration HA-LKG performing flight QS-2931 from Burgas (Bulgaria) to Prague (Czech Republic), was climbing through FL150 out of Burgas when the crew received indication, that the park brake was on. The crew reset the circuit breaker for the park brake without success, consulted with dispatch and maintenance and decided to continue the flight to Prague. During the descent the crew attempted to cycle the landing gear again without success. The crew declared emergency, the cabin was prepared for an emergency landing. The aircraft landed safely on Prague's runway 06 about 2 hours after departure.

Czechia's UZPLN reported a full alert was declared at Prague airport, the crew deactivated automatic braking. The landing subsequently was uneventful with the brakes operating normally. The aircraft vacated the runway and taxied to the apron, where emergency services checked the landing gear with no findings. Maintenance found debris in the electrical connections of the brake system. However, even after removing that debris the park brakes performed erratically during testing. The parking brake switch (shut off valve) was replaced, subsequent tests showed normal operation.
