A Skywest Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of United, registration N780SK performing flight UA-5263 from Denver,CO to Idaho Falls,ID (USA), was climbing out of Denver's runway 34L when a bird impacted the aircraft causing damage to the windshield. The aircraft levelled off at 11,000 feet and returned to Denver for a safe landing on runway 34R about 22 minutes after departure.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Denver about 57 hours after landing.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT STRUCK A BIRD ON DEPARTURE DAMAGING THE WINDSHIELD, DENVER, CO."
