A Jetstar Airbus A321-200, registration VH-VWW performing flight JQ-941 from Cairns,QL to Melbourne,VI (Australia), was enroute at FL330 about 280nm northnorthwest of Sydney when the crew decided to divert to Sydney due to electrical problems. The aircraft landed safely on Sydney's runway 34L about 45 minutes later.

A replacement A321-200 registration VH-VWN reached Melbourne with a delay of about 8:15 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 5.5 hours after landing.

According to information The Aviation Herald received the aircraft suffered a "ELEC AC BUS 2" fault.
