A passenger reported the crew told them the reason for the return was a crack in the windshield which could be repaired quicker in Manchester than in Egypt.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration G-TAWJ reached Sharm el Sheikh about 7:45 hours.
The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 35 hours after landing back.
