A Cyprus Airways Airbus A320-200, registration 5B-DCJ performing flight CY-499 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Larnaca (Cyprus), was enroute at FL370 over the Aegean Sea about 100nm northeast of Athens (Greece) when the crew reported engine (V2527) problems and diverted to Athens for a safe landing on runway 03L about 25 minutes later.

The passengers were taken to hotels, were rebooked onto flight CY-323 the following day and reached Larnaca with a delay of 15 hours.

Passengers reported the crew announced engine problems.
