An ANA All Nippon Airways de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration JA855A performing flight NH-1639 from Osaka Itami to Matsuyama (Japan) with 79 people on board, was climbing out of Osaka when the crew received indication of malfunction of the right hand engine and shut the engine down. The aircraft returned to Itami Airport for a safe landing about 45 minutes after departure. The aircraft stopped on the runway and was towed to the apron.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Osaka about 39 hours after landing back.
