A Star Flyer Airbus A320-200, registration JA05MC performing flight 7G-76 from Kitakyushu to Tokyo Haneda (Japan) with 146 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Kitakyushu runway 18 when the crew stopped the climb at FL160 reporting a hydraulic failure. The aircraft returned to Kitakyushu for a safe landing on runway 18 and was towed off the runway.

The flight was cancelled.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 5 hours, then departed for flight 7G-82.
