A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-300, registration N594NW performing flight DL-653 from Atlanta,GA to Salt Lake City,UT (USA) with 56 people on board, was climbing from FL340 through FL360 when the crew donned their oxygen masks and initiated an emergency descent to 10,000 feet due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft turned north to divert to Casper,WY (USA). On approach the crew advised no emergency services were needed. The aircraft landed safely on Casper's runway 21 about 30 minutes after stopping the climb.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N698DL reached Salt Lake City with a delay of about 15.5 hours.
