An Air Transat Airbus A310-300, registration C-GPAT performing flight TS-729 from Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) to Saskatoon,SK (Canada) with 249 people on board, was on approach to Saskatoon when the crew selected the gear down but received an unsafe indication for the nose gear. The crew actioned the relevant checklists and after performing the alternate gear extension received a gear down and locked indication for all gear struts. The crew declared emergency, advised they would have no nose gear steering after landing, and continued for a safe landing at Saskatoon. The aircraft was towed off the runway.

The Canadian TSB reported that the aircraft was subsequently flown to Montreal,QC with the landing gear down all the way. The nose gear telescopic strut was replaced.
