A Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9, registration G-VCRU performing flight VS-41 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to San Francisco,CA (USA), was enroute at FL360 over the Atlantic Ocean about 260nm northwest of Keflavik (Iceland) when the crew decided to turn around and return to London reporting a cracked windshield. The aircraft maintained FL360 for the return and landed safely back in London about 3 hours later.

The aircraft is still on the ground in London about 40 hours after landing back.
