The crew subsequently reported one engine had been shut down and they anticipated a normal single engine landing. The aircraft landed safely on Budapest's runway 31R about 40 minutes later.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration TC-JPA was dispatched to Budapest and reached Dusseldorf the following morning with a delay of 11 hours.

The incident aircraft was able to position back to Istanbul departing Budapest about 14 hours after landing and resumed service after landing in Istanbul.
