A United Airbus A320-200, registration N463UA performing flight UA-1816 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to San Francisco,CA (USA) with 150 passengers and 5 crew, was descending towards San Francisco when the crew reported hydraulic problems. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on San Francisco's runway 28R, vacated the runway and stopped clear of the runway. Emergency services advised smoke was seen from the landing gear. The aircraft was subsequently towed to the apron.

The FAA reported: "United Airlines Flight 1816 landed safely at San Francisco International Airport around 7:35 a.m. local time on Thursday, March 14, after the crew reported a possible hydraulic issue. The Airbus A320 departed from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The FAA will investigate."

The airline reported the aircraft suffered a hydraulic leak, emergency services were on standby. A small amount of smoke was seen from the landing gear after landing, which is not unusual when hydraulic fluid comes in contact with the hot brakes.
