A United Boeing 737-800, registration N33289 performing flight UA-1627 from Las Vegas,NV to Washington Dulles,DC (USA), was enroute at FL350 about 200nm southeast of Denver,CO (USA) when one of the windshields developed cracks prompting the crew to turn around and divert to Denver for a safe landing on runway 16R about 50 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 737-900 registration N28457 reached Washington with a delay of about 4.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Denver about 21 hours after landing.

The FAA reported: "United Airlines Flight 1627 landed safely at Denver International Airport in Colorado on Sunday, Jan. 28, after diverting due to a cracked windshield. The plane landed around 1:10 p.m. local time."
