A Frontier Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N701FR performing flight F9-4635 from Denver,CO to Phoenix,AZ (USA) with 134 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Denver's runway 17L when the crew declared emergency reporting a left hand engine (CFM56) fire indication and levelled off at 8000 feet. The aircraft returned to Denver, the crew reported on final approach they did not have any indication any more and advised they would vacate the runway and stop on the high speed turn off for a check by emergency services. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 17R about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A321-200N registration N629FR reached Phoenix with a delay of about 4 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Denver about 16 hours after landing.
