A Lufthansa Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIZZ performing flight LH-136 from Frankfurt/Main to Stuttgart (Germany), was accelerating for takeoff from Frankfurt's runway 18 when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (about 80 knots over ground). The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

A passenger reported the tread of a tyre became loose or partly separated. The flight was cancelled.

The aircraft returned to service about 12 hours after the rejected takeoff.
