An Air Sial Airbus A320-200, registration AP-BOS performing flight PF-736 (sched. dep Jan 18th, actual dep Jan 19th) from Lahore (Pakistan) to Muscat (Oman), was climbing out of Lahore's runway 36R when the crew stopped the climb at FL200 reporting a cargo fire indication and decided to return to Lahore for a safe landing on runway 36R about 30 minutes after departure.

The day before, while performing flight PF-717 from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to Lahore, the aircraft had diverted to Karachi (Pakistan). After 11.5 hours on the ground in Karachi the aircraft continued to Lahore and subsequently departed for the incident flight.
