A Norse Atlantic UK Boeing 787-9, registration G-CKWD performing flight Z0-784 from Orlando,FL (USA) to London Gatwick,EN (UK) with 264 people on board, was enroute at FL390 about 160nm eastnortheast of Halifax,NS (Canada) when the crew heard a loud bang accompanied by a flash at the left windshield. The outer windshield pane shattered, the pressurization remained normal however. The crew worked the related checklists, consulted with dispatch and maintenance and decided to continue the flight to destination, where the aircraft landed without further incident about 4:40 hours later.

The Canadian TSB reported the crew declared PAN PAN as a precaution.

The aircraft remained on the ground in London for about 50 hours, then returned to service.
