A Delta Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N3757D performing flight DL-1394 from Salt Lake City,UT (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 107 people on board, was enroute when the crew received an intermittent stabilizer indication. The crew worked the related checklist and the indication went away. During the descent towards Toronto the indication returned, the crew tested both electric and manual trim and found the trim inoperative. The crew declared emergency and prepared for a flap 15 landing according to related checklists. In addition the crew requested assistance by a captain who was travelling as passenger in the cabin. The aircraft remained normally controllable and landed safely on Toronto's runway 23.
