A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration N806NW performing flight DL-17 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Detroit,MI (USA), was enroute at FL380 over the Atlantic Ocean about 500nm westnorthwest of Shannon (Ireland) when the crew decided to turn around and return to London due to the failure of the green hydraulic system. The aircraft maintained FL380 for the return and landed safely on Heathrow's runway 27R about 2:10 hours later.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Heathrow about 5.5 hours after landing back.

The flight was cancelled.
