A British Airways Airbus A320-200, registration G-EUUF performing flight BA-1321 from Newcastle,EN to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute at FL270 when the flight crew donned their oxygen masks after noticing a foul odour in the cockpit. Both flight crew started to feel ill but managed to land the aircraft safely on Heathrow's runway 27L. Both pilots were taken to the medical facilities at the airport for a first assessment for "smoke inhalation" and subsequently taken to a hospital.

The airline reported the aircraft landed safely after a minor technical issue with the aircraft.

Emergency Services reported they were called to Heathrow's Terminal 5 following an incident and treated two patients for smoke inhalation. The patients were subsequently taken to a local hospital.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 7.5 hours then resumed service.
