A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-88, registration N996DL performing flight DL-360 from Montego Bay (Jamaica) to Atlanta,GA (USA), stopped the climb out of Montego Bay and returned to Montego Bay for a safe landing due to an unsafe nose gear indication after retracting the gear.

A passenger reported that about 10-15 minutes after departure the crew announced the aircraft would return to Montego Bay due to a problems with the nose gear. The aircraft performed a low approach to Montego Bay to have the landing gear inspected from the ground and subsequently landed safely. The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the two flights later the day.
