A Jazz Canadair CRJ-100, registration C-FSJU performing flight QK-7988 from Saint Louis,MO (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 13 people on board, was departing Saint Louis when the crew received a gear disagree indication after gear retraction, a red gear down indication remained for the nose gear. The crew cylced the gear down and up again without success. The crew decided to climb the aircraft to FL230 and divert to London,ON (Canada), where the aircraft landed safely about 90 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported that the aircraft had encountered a number of nose gear problems since beginning of the year. Although maintenance believes, that just a proximity sensor may have been out of adjustment, the entire nose gear assembly was replaced.
