A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGNY performing flight QK-8935 from Moncton,NB to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 70 people on board, was enroute at FL240 about 120nm east of Montreal,QC (Canada) when the crew reported the loss of oil pressure on the left hand engine (PW150A), shut the engine down, drifted down to 14,000 feet and diverted to Montreal for a safe landing about 35 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found no oil leakage, however large metallic particles were found in the particle detectors. The particles were sent to a laboratory for analysis, the engine was replaced.
