Somalia's CAA confirmed a Halla Airlines Embraer EMB-120 veered off the runway on landing resulting in minor injuries only. An investigation has been opened. There had been no report of an anomaly by the crew prior to touch down.
On Jul 29th 2023 Somalia's Ministry of Transport reported the aircraft encountered windshear at low height causing loss of control when it landed on runway 05. The aircraft had undergone maintenance on May 5th 2023 and was airworthy, the crew was qualified and experienced. The ministry compared the accident to the one of July 2022 also for windshear, see Accident: Jubba F50 in Mogadishu on Jul 18th 2022, flipped over on landing after left wing separated.
