An Egyptair Boeing 737-800, registration SU-GCP performing flight MS-704 from Milan Malpensa (Italy) to Cairo (Egypt) with 124 passengers and 7 crew, was climbing out of Malpensa Airport's runway 35L when the crew stopped the climb at FL080 due to the failure of the stabilizer trim motor resulting in the loss of the autopilot and loss of RVSM capability. The aircraft returned to Malpensa Airport for a safe landing on runway 35R about 15 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled.
