A Delta Airlines Boeing 717-200, registration N607AT performing flight DL-2880 from Atlanta,GA to Charlotte,NC (USA), was on approach to Charlotte's runway 36L when the crew initiated a go around advising they had a gear door indication and needed to run a checklist. The aircraft positioned for another approach to runway 36L and landed about 16 minutes after the go around.

The FAA reported: "AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR DOORS STRUCK THE RUNWAY ON LANDING, CHARLOTTE, NC.", the damage was "MINOR".

The aircraft is still on the ground in Charlotte about 19 hours after landing.
